in many styles to convey a variety of messages.
In addition to the 4
process inks (cyan, magenta, yellow and black), you can specify a spot color by
number from the chart below.
This may be due to the way your monitor
is calibrated, as well as the fact that colors on the screen are more vibrant
than they would appear in newsprint.
Please contact your Pilot Advertising
Account Representative or your Graphic Designer for additional information.

the spot colors listed.

My research
is based on RGB color palates and mixing of primary and secondary colors.
Half my focus is with this on computer based advertising and design, the
other half is on how this is delt with on the internet including Hexidecimal values,
specifically WWW browsers like Netscape; also its inclusion with marketing and
advertising strategies.
As soon as I get in deep with my research, resources
and information will be posted here.
Check out my RGB to HEX convertor

Convertor is based on my ongoing art research
for my advertising/design minor.
Basicly this convertor helps put my
research theories into practice.
advertisements, energy bar, alcohol advertisements, reds,
brown, hue, salience.
Liu and Westmoreland
found that "before" advertisements were generally darker, using shades
of black and white, green and brown; in contrast, "after" advertisements
used bright colors such as red, orange and yellow.
The bland colors give
elements in the advertisement low salience because of the lack of contrast, and
the problem is perceived as a whole, a completely undesirable situation.
The color swatches above were taken from 29 energy bar advertisements and loosely
arranged by hue and brightness, showing the popularity of brown and blue tones.
In the sample of alcohol advertisements, red, black and blue were predominantly
used.
The bold, eye-catching reds were mostly an amber hue, the color
of many of the products (whiskey and beer) themselves.

The Psychology of Colors in Advertising
and Marketing.
Are you stimulating emotions while marketing with your
business logo, stationary, business cards, brochures, signs and with your website?
BLACK suggests authority, power, boldness, seriousness, is distinguishing
and classic.
Business wise it's great for creating drama and is good
for a background color (except on websites, it is very hard on the eyes).
Solid, reliable brown is the color of earth and is abundant in nature.
For business you must be aware of it's feminine links and implications.
It is the most difficult color for the eye to take in, so it can be overpowering
if overused.
